Jing: the easiest way to create screencasts
I’ve become a big fan of Jing, a free utility which describes itself as the “quick & easy way to visually share your thoughts.”
Below is short video about a new iGoogle gadget, created using Jing. In a single step Jing captured the screen video below, uploaded it to the screenshot.com server, and copied the embedding markup to the clipboard. Jing also captures from the microphone allow easy voiceovers. (My video has only background noise however.)
There certainly have been screen capture utilities before but none so nicely integrated into a service for hosting and sharing the content.

Jing is available for both the Mac and PC and is built by TechSmith, the same company that makes SnagIt.
