Announcing Berry 411 version 2.6

Berry 411 version 2.6.1 is now available using the over-the-air install link below.

http://thebogles.com/berry411.jad

New features in version 2.6 include a new search tools page and smart autocomplete.

  • Search Tools simplifies mapping an address, reverse phone lookup, optimizing a web page for mobile devices, and getting news, weather, and sports updates.  (You can get to the search tools page by bringing up the search menu with no search text entered.)
  • Autocomplete now supports partial word matches (e.g. “w g” will match “wild ginger”) and returns more relevant completion suggestions by matching only at the beginning of words, not in substrings.
  • For power users, there are one character shortcuts that expand to the popular search plugins (m: expands to movies:, g: expands to google, t: expands to technorati blog search, etc.)

Please post your suggestions and issues in the Berry 411 forums.

Baby Name Visualization

Via Pito’s blog, I discovered the NameVoyager. I seem to have a lot of friends who have had babies lately, so this is topically relevant, it’s also just a really nice visualization.

This one has made the rounds, but in case you haven’t seen it yet. Whether or not you are expecting a baby, have a child, or just love cool visualizations, you’ve gotta check out “The Baby Name Wizard’s NameVoyager“. Incredibly cool!
