Here Comes Location-Based Mobile Info
About 10 days ago Nextel and MapQuest announced a service that delivers location-based maps and local info (shops, restaurants, etc.) to any Nextel GPS-enabled phone. The service is called MapQuest Find Me. The service also allows you to share your location with trusted people (via the web) and even send text messages through the service.

We think that location based message content is the thin wedge that allows us to blow up radio as we know it. There’s no reason that you can’t deliver individualized radio style entertainment/information content based in part on location and commuting patterns.
Actually we have a methodology in development that does this rather well.
